Block Colour Illustrations - Poppy and Jasper

This project captures the personalities of my dogs, Poppy and Jasper, through a series of three block colour illustrations. The goal was to explore the use of shape and colour without relying on outlines, highlighting their unique quirks and expressions through bold, simplified designs.

The project included both traditional and digital elements, aligning with the assessment requirements. I first created the designs by hand in my visual diary, using a combination of acrylic paint for one piece and markers for the other two. I then digitally recreated each piece in Adobe Illustrator, using only the Pen Tool and colour picker to create fully enclosed paths, ensuring the designs retained the bold, simplified style required for the activity.
