Hi, I'm Amy Sartorious

About Me
I’m an aspiring game artist and animation student at the University of Canberra, currently building my skills in 2D animation, digital illustration, and game design. I originally started my degree with the goal of becoming a UX designer, but after creating a small game level in one of my units, I realised that game design was a better fit for my interests and skills. It combined everything I enjoyed: art, storytelling, and creative problem solving, and felt like a natural direction for my career.

Before this, I completed a Diploma of IT in 2021, which gave me a strong technical foundation in programming and problem solving. This background has been a valuable asset as I develop my skills in game design, helping me bridge the gap between creative concepts and technical execution.

I’ve loved games for as long as I can remember. From the early days of exploring fantastical worlds on my family’s console to the more complex, emotionally driven experiences I play today, games have always been a huge part of my life. Titles like Skyrim and Outer Wilds have had a profound impact on my creative direction, showing me the power of games to inspire, challenge, and connect people. I want to create those same moments of wonder and discovery for others – the kind that stay with you long after the credits roll.

As a neurodivergent creator, I approach game design with a unique perspective, often finding unconventional solutions and noticing patterns that others might miss. My neurodiversity has shaped the way I think about games, from the fine details of animation to the broader storytelling that gives them meaning. I believe this perspective adds depth to my work, and I’m excited to keep learning, experimenting, and finding my voice as a game artist.
